Themed Art

For this assignment each class will write down random ideas to draw or paint, then vote on the top 3 to choose from. Similar to our Free Draw assignments you can use any medium we've already used. Your finished art will be graded on the following:

• How closely it represents the theme. An example of not following the theme would be drawing a tree for the "sea creatures" theme. However, be creative and try to think of things that might push the definition of what you're drawing or painting. For example a robot fish for sea creatures would still be a type of creature that lives in the sea.

• A short description about how your art represents the theme. Your explanation could be as simple as, "I decided to draw a robot fish for sea creatures because I wanted to do something different and unique."

• Effort

• Creativity - make your theme funny or interesting in some way. If it's a person try drawing a caricature, or something funny. If it's a theme like "sea creatures" you don't have to just draw animals that live in the ocean. You draw mythological sea creatures, robotic fish, etc.
