The Free Sculpt assignment let's you make a sculpture of your choice out of any material you've already used. A this point we've used paper, cardboard, air dry clay, and paper mache clay. This means you can use any of these materials to make your own sculpture. You do not have to re-make the same projects we've already made, but you can if you'd like. Below are are different sculptures using the same materials you've used. Can you figure out a creative way to make something new?
One thing to remember is that an artist should be able to take almost any material and transform it into something new and creative. With cardboard, you can literally think outside the box! Cut it, tear it, peel it apart and make something interesting.
Paper is more delicate than cardboard, so your sculptures will be different. However, you can still make a lot of interesting sculptures with just plain and colored paper. If you want to use colored paper it's in the flat file drawer next to the smart board.
