Mixed Media is defined as using 2 or more different mediums(colored pencil, paint, ink, etc.) in one piece of art. Read below for the expectations for this project. You'll have about 5 classes to work on this project.
Before you start do some research. Start by googling mixed media art. Look at different artists, watch a video, or read about how they create their work.

Using 2 or more different mediums. 2 is the minimum, so effectively using more than 2 may help your grade.
Including elements of color theory. Example: using complementary colors to create shadows or contrast in your painting.
Effort - see the chart on the home page for clarification.
Creativity - creating something original or new is better than just copying someone else's image. This doesn't mean you can't be inspired by someone and make something similar using their techniques, but if you just copy exactly what they have then it isn't very creative.
Writing - write 1-3 paragraphs explaining what your art is about, why you chose the materials, how you used color theory, etc. Don't forget spelling and punctuation matter! Submit this in an email or google doc to 1008810@k12.hi.us.
